Wearing hats during my runs has become the norm over the last year or so.  Providing protection from the sun and an alternative way to catch the sweat has been key as I find myself spending more time running.  I was stoked when the Boco 360º Visor® and Run Hat in BibRave orange should up on my door step.

If you aren’t familiar with Boco Gear, they offer a large selection of performance gear for athletes and non-athletes that are stylish and can be customized for any event.  Just check out the a sinpet of the events that they currently sponsor with their gear; Ragnar, Hoka One, Ironman, and GU.  Now if that list doesn’t speak volumes in regards to the quality of gear being offered, I don’t know what will.

The day came when the gear arrived and wow was I impressed with the color, style, and quality of both the Boco 360º Visor® and Run Hat.  The orange just pop and said “look at me!!!”  I was very skeptical about the visor, as with being a bald guy, I have strayed away from wearing.  I guess I felt I just never looked good in them or they fit my weirdly shaped head.  However at unboxing the visor was actually my favorite of the two due to look.  Below are some specifics from the Boco Gear website on the 360º Visor.

  • Lightweight wicking woven or dry tech polyester outside
  • Wicking internal sweatband to move sweat from your forehead
  • Soft brushed elastic back for comfort and fit
  • Relaxed fit front panel for a better performance and comfort
  • Black underside of the bill to reduce glare
  • Curved Bill
  • Machine Washable

As you can see from my social media outlets the visor has become my go to piece of gear for all of my running activities.  For the last two months this visor has been on several training runs, hikes, and races and still looks brand new.  The design, material and weight of the visor leave me forgetting that I actually have a visor on my head.  The sweatband is so comfortable and wicks away the profuse sweat that always drips down my face and into my eyes.  The best feature is that the visor is machine washable as we all know our gear starts to stink quickly.  Not any more, just toss the visor into the wash and before you know it, fresh smelling has returned.

As for the Run Hat, the flatbill design turned me off initially.  However what I found out is that with the material used, the shape could be altered.  Over the last few months I have integrated using the Run Hat on more of my runs as with the weather getting colder, I enjoyed having the top part of my head covered.  I just flip the hat around, where the bill is in the back and off I go.  The same quality that is received with the visor can be seen with the run hat, below is a description of the Run Hat.

  • Camp hat styling
  • Performance fabrications
  • Wicking sweatband
  • Adjustable back closure
  • Flat moldable bill

I am overall impressed with the Boco Gear and will find these two pieces journeying with me for the years to come.  Great quality for a fantastic price is always good in my book.  Add in the ability to customize the gear for any event and you have a winner.  I will definitely be adding a few more to my collection.

Make sure to check out Boco Gear on the various social media outlets; Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
