Disclaimer: I received free entry to the Illinois Marathon race as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews!”…

Yep you guessed it! In my quest to run a marathon in all 50 states, I’ve registered for the Illinois Marathon and will be crossing another state off the list. That leaves only 45 more to go! I got this! However why choose this race instead of all the others? Well I’ve read many reviews on BibRAVE and they are raving about the logistics, course and atmosphere.

Race weekend is April 25-27 with tons of activities around the Expo and various racing events they have for runners of all experience and ages. I will be running the Marathon, but they also offer the following races:

  • Marathon
  • Marathon Relay
  • Half Marathon
  • Wheelchair Marathon
  • I-Challenges
  • 10k
  • 5k
  • Youth Run
  • The course route of the Marathon runs through Champaign-Urbana and runs through campus, loops through Urbana, back through campus and finishes on the 50-yard line of Memorial Stadium.
  • For those who want to join me you will want to be aware of when entry fees increase, and you just missed a few, to take advantage of the best prices. In addition you can save using bibraveillinois2019 which is good for $5 off.
  • To end on a high note we all like rave goodies, right? Well Marathon Runner’s will receive a long sleeve tech shirt and drawstring backpack. For those who finish the marathon, you will receive a finisher’s medal, fleece blanket, commemorative heat shield, food and drinks! Now that’s what I call swag.
  • So if you are looking to fill out your spring race schedule the Illinois Marathon may be just the race you are looking for. Also remember to check back for regularly status updates and how my training is going. I hope to see you there!!!
