Eating health is a tough task to fulfill in our fast pace society. Add in snacking healthy and you can just about accomplishing that out the window. I accomplish snacking healthy about 50% of the time and I’ll blame the other 50% on the fact that I travel often. Well for those of you in my shoes, I have good news…
Recently I was introduced to Health Warrior Chia Bars, which are just packed with the amazing ingredient “Chia”. I can honestly say the only thing I knew about “Chia”, where those Chia pets back in the day. Luckily, I am more knowledgeable now and ready to share my success story with the Health Warrior Chia Bars.
So what is this “chia” I am speaking of? Lets just say it’s a “Superfood”, and the points below will hopefully have you feeling the same.
- Ounce for ounce chia has more protein than an egg, more omega 3s than salmon, more fiber than flax, more calcium than milk, and more magnesium than broccoli.
- Chia seeds absorb up to 10x their weight in water.
- Chia seeds have been found to help with inflammation.
If that doesn’t have you eager to add some chia to your diet, just read the book “Born To Run” and learn how the Tarahumara fueled their running with Chia!
The bars arrived and needless to say I ripped open the package to find a box of the Apple Cinnamon and Dark Chocolate, and immediately began digesting the ingredients. I was surprised to see only 100 calories, 4 g of Sugar, 4 g of Fiber, and packed with Omega-3’s. What better than an all healthy bar that also is vegan and gluten free. So I asked what’s the gimmick here? Will they taste good? No gimmick my friends just a healthy snack that can be eaten prior to or post workout. For me I am a texture person and was skeptical, but I couldn’t wait to try these bars out. With all the healthy ingredients I wondered if the taste would be bland, once again I was surprised they actually tasted REALLY GOOD!!!! The one thing I need to mention, and that you probably will read in other reviews, is that be prepared to have some Chia seeds stuck in between your teeth after eating. Just make sure to floss or swish some water after eating.
So what about this Marathon Training Coloring Book? What a great way to break up those stressful parts of the normal day with a comical coloring book of the sport we all love to participate in. I can say that I have used this coloring book on more than one occasion and tend to fight with my daughter over which page we color. Just another way, in my opinion Health Warrior is changing the game on HEALTHY!!! A healthy and stress-free mind does a body good.
Over the last month I have gone through both boxes of my Health Warrior Chia bars and absolutely love them. I take them on my trips when I travel, which has definitely helped with my healthy snacking during the day, versus the trip to the snack machine full of junk. I’ve also noticed that my performance running has increased when snacking on a bar prior to my run. Possibly the fact that chia seeds retain water, therefore fueling me during my distance runs. Either way for the cost of a box of Chia Bars its worth trying for yourself. For $15.99 you receive a box of 15 bars, and with over nine different flavors you are sure to find one that tempts your palate. I know I recently just found a few new flavors that I just had to try.
