Who would have ever thought you would hear Bourbon and running in the same sentence. Well the organizers of the Urban Bourbon Half have done just that, provide one of the best after parties! Now don’t get me wrong, the race itself is amazing as it traverses runners through Louisville, KY! Unfortunately, you must be 21 years of age on race day to run in this race, due to the bourbon obviously!
I read a few reviews on Bibrave.com regarding the Urban Bourbon Half Marathon and knew I just had to add it to my 2017 Race schedule…and that’s what I did. Come October 21, 2017, I will be traveling to Louisville, KY and hope to see some of you there.
So lets get on to some race details:

Location: Louisville, KY
Course: The course is currently being redesigned for 2017, and Race Management is working closely with Louisville Metro Special Events and the Louisville Metro Police Department to create the best race course possible. Stay tuned for details once released.

Participants in the Half Marathon and Corporate Challenge will receive tech shirts, virtual goodie bags and finisher medals. At the finish line, walkers and runners will enjoy Mylar blankets, fruit, bagels, Powerade and TruMoo chocolate milk.
Along with race entry, all registrants will receive a free wristband for the post-race Urban Bourbon Bash held on the Belvedere from 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. With a wristband, race participants can enjoy a sampling of bourbons from various distillers along the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, Kentucky Ale beer, Bearno’s Pizza, and plenty of prize and photo opportunities. The popular local band the Louisville Crashers will perform at the post-race party.
Guest admission to the Bourbon Bash is $30 and can be purchased online during registration, at packet pick-up and race day. Packet pick-up and race day purchases are cash only.
- Pasta Experience at Bearno’s by the Bridge – Friday night.
- $20 per person and includes spaghetti or lasagna, salad and soft drink
- Run for the Bourbon Dinner at Down One Bourbon Bar and Restaurant – Saturday night.
- $45 per person. Menu will be released late-summer 2017
